yeah, I didn't think I would like the white so much, but it has grown on me... just need to do the red/clear mod on the tails and maybe some tint on the windows.

Looks really clean, hope you enjoy it. I just got mine 2 days ago. I got it for free but it needs a little attention to the water pump and timing chain cover.

well, I drove it back from chicago today... it was a good drive home.
Thanks for all of the comments.
The car feels great. I picked it up for 7200. I have been lurking around on the forums for a while and I'm really happy with the Maxima. It's replacing my 97 Prelude, which is a great car. I need something thats more practical, but still looks good and is fun to drive.

That's what you wanted to say.

^^ ha ha. I have definitely been thinking about doing the suspension. I put kyb agx shocks and neuspeed sport springs on my Prelude. The stiffer ride and lowering felt great. I may go for a kyb agx/h&r sport combo, but that will have to wait a little while.
From what I have been reading on the forum, it sounds like suspension is not bad as a DIY.

nothing wrong with a suspension setup on your daily driver, just make sure you choice is a wise one and you wont have any regrets.

Car looks good, nice clean, WHat happened to the lude? How was that not a good daily driver?

The Lude is fun and I love how it looks and drives, but it was just time for a change... I had it for 4 years and I really wanted to have a 4 door. They are totally different cars obviously. I feel like the Maxima is a better fit for me. I am selling the prelude to my brother... so it's still in the family.

to Conrad283... I just got a new stereo today... the mods have definitely begun. Unfortunately, it is way too easy to start spending money on cars. The problem is finding the money. oh well.

Beautiful Maxima, congratulations and welcome! Sounds like you did what I did. I shopped around for months looking for a 5-speed Max with black leather and decent mileage and finally found one in Chicago at a good price. Went down and bought it and drove it back to Madison.

You did yourself a huge favor by getting a 5-speed and by getting one that looks to be in excellent condition. My only regret is that my exterior is not in great shape, battle scars from its previous life on Chicago streets.

Suggestions for easy first mods:
1. Red/clear tails
2. Shave Nissan burger from the trunk (but leave the MAXIMA)...it looks much classier this way. Heat gun/hairdryer, fishing wire or dental floss, and some polish and you'll get it cleanly off.
3. Lose the front license plate, looks bad and Madison cops don't seem to care.
4. 35% or 20% tint all around (I highly recommend TNT Window Tinting, they do perfect work)
5. Suspension (do not buy AGXs, they aren't nearly as good as Tokico Illuminas)...a good looking drop that still rides well is 1.5" or so.

What side of town do you live on? We should get together soon.

Tom

Congrats on the car man, I was really stoked too when I first picked up my 5sp. 6 months later, I just finished detailing her this morning, and I still need to get some pads for my buffer to make her shine, but I still love my max.

Sweet, Another madtowner. We should chill sometime. We all chill every once and a while. Maybe I can convert you to RWD'ism before you get too deep in modding.
