Small Leak A-Pillar Driver Side
Small Leak A-Pillar Driver Side
There seems to be a small leak coming from my sunroof to the driver side A-Pillar
When ever it rains there seems to be a wet spot in the HeadLiner.

I used a long zip tie and put it in the drain tubes in the sunroof. The Passenger side I was not able to see the zip tie, but when I put it in the driver side I was able to see it coming out of the A-Pillar. Is this expensive to fix?
What's needed?
Thanks.

From what i remember you cant see the nipples where the hose attaches with out taking down the headliner. The hose should be very tight on the nipple. If they are loose you will never get a zip tie to make any difference.
I will check later on one of my cars to double check where the nipple is.

A-Pillar
I also have same problem. Have had roof repainted and all. In heavy rain water gets to seam of passenger a-pillar plastic and headliner. Any thoughts? I will see if the tube is clogged. If ever its no longer attached well to sunroof drain hole, how can i access it to be able to see where the drain tube connects to sunroof?

Well, at least you're searching I guess.
You can try some compressed air, but to see the tube on the sunroof I believe you will need to drop the headliner as stated above.
+1 on dropping headliner to reconnect the tube. I try to pickup a tube at a salvage yard and make a practice run on the bone yard car to get a feel for fastner clip removal locations and potential issues before I dive into any headliner/trim removal. One time I had some I30 plastic A-pillar covers crumble on me as they get brittle over time.
I've noticed the drain will remove enough water to keep it from backing up into the cabin if 3 of the 4 drain hoses are flowing without obstruction. Once 2 of 4 stopped up then I started seeing water in the cabin. I try to check/blow/clean out the drains once a year.
There is a metal y-pipe that exits at the bottom of the passenger side rear fender that is prone to rust and clogging. The antenna drain connects to the y-pipe with the sun roof vent. Depending on your location it is good to check on those metal drain parts as I've had them rust shut.
Using a long zip tie as a probe seems like a good idea to me.
