Hi guys, can you put a VLSD onto a non-VLSD equipped Maxima? Is it a simple operation or do you have to change axles or something? Cheers, PHAT6.

drop your old open diff tranny, replace with a VLSD equipped tranny.

replace your drivers side axle with an LSD axle and then enjoy.

So if the LSD version won't fit into the stock open diff then what do you do? Someone must have done this before?

We have a Toyota vs Nissan drag / dyno day on October 29th and I'm swapping in a DE-K to get ready for this meet and I was wondering about the LSD as well. So any help would be really appreciated. BTW - what Toyotas are the direct competitor with Maxes?

Toyota......

I believe it's a direct bolt on no modifications needed. Just need an LSD driver side axle.

To straighten out the confusion the LSD tranny is a direct replacement. The 2001 VLSD is the same as the 96-99 I30t, but the speed sensor needs to be swapped over. Also if you have ABS make sure the VLSD axle has the ABS sensor ring.

thats what i was going to say, phats its seems some of the cefiros had lsd. would have to do some reasearch but you could do some research, and find out what the tranny code is on those and see if you could find one.

still will have the drives side axle to deal with, im wondering if it would be as simple as pulling it from the car you take the tranny from.

what do you think guys ? we talking about a .1 off 60 foots with lsd ? or what ?
