Perhaps they didn't bring a phillips screwdriver with them when they broke in. The center dash is held in with 4 screws. Maybe they ripped the bottom two out and the top two didnt budge so they gave up? I dunno? but it is just odd that they just left everything there. Glad the damage isn't too bad and repairable.
