5.5 Gen Seats Installed in a 4th gen Maxima

Maxs and I got these finally installed in my max. Black leather seats both are powered and heated. Way better then the stock 4th gen seats. Here are pics.

i don't see any difference, the leather seems "smoother". Any chance of a write-up?

They look like they would wrap the torso better allowing you to stay in one spot when cornering etc.

Nice work.

Whats with the center console? It looks like a 5th gen console. If so how does it meet with the dash? Or is that pic of a 5th gen?

You people asking for more details must be new or have poor memories.

its a 6 speed.
these seats require some modification to make them fit. mostly its the rear mounting points on the rails that are different.

maxs originally had these seats and he was selling them. nobody bought them so we installed them in my car. like i said the mounting points on the back are different so we removed the mounting points from the 4th gen rails and welded them on the 5th gen rails.

Yes, you will definitely know a difference when you sit in 5th gener's leather seats. Sorry, but they are far more better quality than the 4th gener's...much better quality of leather and smoother...and most of all more comfortable! I owned a '95, and the leather didn't hold up well at all. If you don't take care of it, it cracks and peels like crazy, unlike the 5th gener's. Anyway, vsamoylov, looks good! Did you get the heater to work in the seats?

well the seats in a 2000-2001 max and a 2002-2003 max are also different and so is the leather. the heaters work but no need for them cause of all the hot weather we are having down here.

airbags are in the seats but they will be removed because ihave no use for them. i never tried the rear but i can say it will be more difficult then the front cause the rear upper part of the seats has the side pieces as well as the center piece. the bench though might fit. i have a set in the basement but i like my i30 rear seats with the headrests better. now the i35 rear seats those i would definatly try to fit if i had a set.
