I always forget about that, the 95/96 steering wheel is pretty bad.

I drive a 98 but even if I didnt from all I have read and seen I would still say the 98 is the best. My friends girlfriend has a 95, my friend has a 97, I have a 98. My friends 97 has nothing over my car, mainly cause its a base SE, mine is loaded. But still his stock rear suspension sags bad with anything in the back... and no its not gone bad I heard that a problem with the 97's. No digital odo also sucks. Now to compare the 95. No offense to anyone that owns one but i hate the back of the 95-6's. I would like a 95 due to it being maybe a hair faster and a hair lighter, but only if i would convert to a 97-9 back end. Them 95 bumber reinforcements... lol. Still I am happy with my 98. 1 year and 23k since I bought her @69k and all she asks for is an o2 and ks. =P For this all year maximas win ^_^

i like 95's. i had a 96 and a 97. Now ive got a 95. I like my 95 because it seems a little smaller and more compact, but it could be just me. And I like the less emissions crap since its OBD-I.

This has been a highly debated topic for many years. At my last dinner with Carlos Ghosen, he told me that Nissan built the '98 5 speed GXE models with the most precision and used the best, most fresh materials. You definitely know where my vote goes, when it comes to the best overall 4th gen.

I agree that the front bumper looks better. Im not a fan of the 97-99 rear bumper. I like the 95/96 tails better when they are red/clear. Not a fan of either tails when stock. I like the 95/96 grille better. I dunno, 95s are lighter, and Ive got one, so Im partial to it as well.

I love my 95...had a couple of starter problems...nothing big...I like the 97 and up tails though...that's about the only thing I would change on my 95.

I must say the OEM tails on the 97-99's er whatever it is look the best. Plus the 99 body style is just the nicest. I wish I had a 06 engine and exhuast in my 99 although.

The '98 still holds it over the '99 dude to faulty coilpacks and immobilizer.

I believe 1997 is the best year because it is perfectly in the middle between 1995-1999. Having a number that is in the dead center of the others is great for all of us, semi-OCD people : )

The sum of all of those numbers are even = 26. Although, if you divide by 2 then the number is 13. 13 is a bad number. Yup, guess my theory is flawed. Yes, sorry, back to topic.

What's wrong with the immobilizer? No key, no start...which is excellent for security reasons.

I agree but when ppl lose them they complain of a pain in the @ss, or when they're getting keys made.. but I guess if you get arounbd that than its just the coilpacks.

Did they add anymore emissions equipment to the '99?

but i was talking about the fact that 4th gens after 95/96 are chubbier, and not where it counts.

I thought it was agreed that speaking the term OBDI in the 4th gen forum was illegal ... being have been flamed to hell and back for suggesting there were OBDI 95's .......... or so I thought.
