My friend has a '99 GLE. His climate control displays the temperature in Celcius. How can he change the display to Fahrenheit?

 

I believe the dealer can change it with the CONSULT tool. Also, I think Canadian models have the Celcius readings on their A/C units.

 

is there a way to switch it on our own w/o going to the stealership?

 

Sorry, no. Only the dealer can access this and change this (with their CONSULT tool).

 

there was a way to see the ambient temp at start up. I should have book marked it. Does anybody remember how to do this? You've gotta press 2 buttons at the same time or something. I jsut cant remember.
