Car Poping-Backfiring

Hey guys, you helped me in the past and you guys were a great help, but i gotta ask you couple more newbie q's.

I hacked my airbox a while ago and it sounds great, but when i'm accelerating fast, the car kind of pops or backfires especially when the gears are changing, and then when i'm idling, the car would just kind of jump a little bit. I was thinking it's MAF sensor but i'm not sure.

And another question, I got a warpspeed y-pipe, what should my next mod(s) be.
Unortodox crank pulley, Stillen catback, mevi, ecu.....
I'm sure you guys got asked this question a lot, so thanks for your patience and help.

backfiring would have to do with your exhaust....If its not coming out of the exhaust i dont know what that could be....what is your idle at?? maybe adjusting the idle a but upward would help it...otherwise it could be many things(maf/intake leak/IAVC etc....) Most people would go with a catback exhasut as there next mod. People do pully's when they run out of other things to bolt on....

Does it backfire out of the exhaust or the intake?

intakes don't backfire.....hmmm does it hesitate when it makes the sound? does it happen only when you release the throttle or are flooring it?

i know intake doesn't backfire, but it sounds like it.
It's popping (backfiring) when i'm flooring it, and then when i'm at the dead stop, the car kind of jumps and idiling goes up a little bit.
This goes away, and it comes back, when it's kind of humid outside this happens, and when the weather is aroung 60 degrees, it doesn't.
Also yeasterday when i was going to work, i started my car and put it in reverse, as soon as i let of the brake, the car died, same when i put it in drive, but when the car wormed up, everythink was good.

I would bet that one or more of your coils are bad. If at idle, it sounds like the car 'hiccups' every once in a while and under acceleration/hard acceleration it gets choppy and it almost sounds like a bag of popcorn is being made under your hood then thats what it is.
A quick and temporary fix you could try is find a totaly pitch dark spot to park your car at nite. And with the car on and ideling, look under the hood. Take off the cover thats on the front spark plugs/coils. And with it totaly dark see if you see any blue arcs coming from the coils (things that plug into the spark plugs).
Once you locate where the sparks are happening you can take electrical tape and wrap it around the coil and lay a few pieces on the metal surrounding the coil when its plugged into the spark plug. You will have to eventualy replace your coils man. They are like $80 each and you need 6 of em. So do what I did and do 1 a month till you get them all.

They CAN backfire if the cam timing is off.
