Need To Get Motor Changed !!!

I live in west ATL, need to have the motor changed on a 95 Maxima SE (March 95).

Will any GXE, SE, or GLE (95-99), used motor from a junk yard, fit in my Max ?

Any recommendations on Junk yards ?

Any recommendations on where to get work done ?

How much parts & labor ?

What to look out for ?

Thanks

Why do you need an engine?

www.car-part.com, any trim level will do.

try the regional forums for someone to help you swap it.

car-part.com for the engine, you can use a dek or swap to the 3.5 too. but any 95-99 will basically be a direct drop in

Blown Head Gasket, (I've decided to replace motor rather than rebuild)

I assumed that any 4th Gen GXE, SE or GLE will do, but I don't know, after reading this thread

http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?t=478206

Will I run into emmisions problems ???

Or should I stick to a 95 engine ?

The link for car-part.com is real good.

I know this is going to be a stupid ?, but can someone give me a good example on car-part for my engine. ie how to interpret the stock#

ie columns 2,3 and 4

If 3rd column is 0 to 200 mileage, does that mean rebuilt ???

Thanks

i'm no expert but i don't see it costing much more than a 3.0
and if that's the case get a 3.5 and it's on like donkey kong.

If the 3.5 swap were as cheap as swapping in another 3.0, don't you think more people would have done it by now?

The way I see it, if you are not sure of what to suggest anyone, don't make a suggestion at all. Read the All Motor forum and understand what is really involved in a VQ35 swap. It's a lot of work, and it costs more than the DE-K swap. Of course, those who have done the swaps one or more times will answer a little differently because they have done it before. You guys need to stop reposting stuff like this, all information that you all need is in the All Motor forum.

i can't contribute to this stuff any more, you try to contribute and if it helps someone, awesome, if not that's fine too, but these girlie-mouth studio gangsters who start stuff in cyber-space because get they picked on in society, i just don't get it. so talk a gang of ****, that's what you do, you're good at it too, just don't be surprised when you end up with a mouth full of bloody chiclets, if i get banned, fine, i'll continue to be real and expose who's fake. this **** here must stop, all these clown-a$$ kids who get pi$$ed on in real life, i'm willing to bet the only smart thing you;ve ever done is buy a nissan, and you've managed to become a disgrace to that, it's a shame about all the misuse of this site. if i'm not banned for standing up for myself thus far here's the knockout punch, some kid who will remain nameless who is also an orger and happens to live in my city thoght it would be cool to jump in with some useless ****-talk, ran his mouth, when i wanted to meet up and handle it like a couple of gentlemen, he loaded up his underwear with feces and ran, so have the last word, go ahead, it's your's, just remember; this argument can't get settled on a website.

man I remember the last time you got on the forum you got flamed worse than this and its cause you dont give respect to ppl who have been here longer than you, or are more qualified to answer things than you.. if you perhaps listened or did some research you'd see why ppl feel this way.

First of all lets correct you spelling and punctuation.. On second thought nvm that would take a while. The silencers?.. why>? If you're making a huge deal over threatening to do ppl in on here, why do it quietly. Pull that slide back and let em fly. Yes, advertise you're greatness.

Sounds like you're the one having a bad day. Keep up the derrogatory remarks and you will be on your way to your first forum ban...consider this your first warning.

www.cherry-auto.com

ive dealt with them several times, i actually got a motor from my maxima a couple of years ago from them and it was perfect condition, only $680 shipped with warrenty and 30k miles. last thing i got from them was a transmission for a s2000 and that was mint as well. highly reccomended. also, i would stick with a 95-97 engine but if you are familiar with working on cars any 4th gen will work, you may have to compensate for something here and there but engine swaps are straight forward when its the same motor. one piece of advice, if you are not familiar with your car, dont pull out your motor until you get the new one, otherwise you will forget where everything connects too... good luck

yeah, i'm to hot-headed and intolerant for this site with all the people who flame others for not knowing what they know, plus my perspective is biased
from having a lift in the garage; the 3.5 wouldnt cost me more than the purchasing of parts, so here's my self inflicted perma-ban, to those who dont flame and act like know-it-alls :god bless you and yours.
and if there are any of you in northeast ohio who need some metal fab. or repair welding, e-mail me at vspec17@yahoo.com
