I feel like something is loose when i accelerate from stop. Is it possilbe the mounts are worn? how do i check its the engine or transmission mounts. when i step on the brake at a light i can feel a little play and a knocking sound like from under the hood. its a very small sound but you can def tell something is loose.

 

Knocking sound could be a number of things, I would check the mounts visually and if they look deteriorated replace them. How many miles do you have?

where exactly are the mounts located? i tried to look for them but could not find them.

 

The most important ones are at the front and rear of the motor.
