custom dynamat install

hey guys, im thinking about doing this project. doing a custom dynamat install on the entire cab of my car except behind the firewall. what i wanted to know is if anybody on here has done anything close to this project. im thinking of doing roof, all doors, floor and behind rear seat. please give feedback if you have done this any explain how much time it would take, if there were any major troubles, how much to expect to spend and how well it works with the road noise, better stereo sound and heat control. thanks

Why are you installing the dampener behind the rear seat. If you had a sub in your trunk, I would think that would make the sub more quiet. If you had your windows tinted, too along with the dynamat your car would be less hot. Road noise should be significantly cut down depending on how many layer you want to use. If you dynamat your whole care, it would cost over $700. If you want to spend less, then get Second Skin damplifier. it costs less and is better than dynamat (according to reviews and research).

raammat costs even less, and is just as good..

or u can do what i did w/ my old car. and that is using seal and peel from lowes.. it will smell for a bit, and then it will go away, but its basically the same materials as dynamat, etc.... asphalt based sound dampening

I've heard seal and peel doesn't work good at all. What do you think?

peel and seal is not QUITE as good as all the real sound deadeners, but it does offer an improvemnt to reducing engine/road noise. and once the smell goes away u'll really appreciate the quieter ride.

dont forget, u can peel and seal ur whole car for around 70-80 bux. i also used frost king insulation as the top layer. much much cheaper than the pricier alternatives...

wrong. i completely dynamated my whole trunk and the only difference is that the bass is much cleaner with a LOT less rattles.
