So I got a catback...
discuss.
This will be used for track ONLY. I was actually getting my current setup up a bit quieter when I decided to fab this up. It's plenty lighter too...

You guys wouldn't want to hear how loud that thing would be. My B-pipe broke off at the cat, completely, while I was in the city. The contrast from a leak to complete break scared me, people waiting for the bus & small animals sh!tless
The whole car vibrated, it was the longest half-hour drive home. Luckily, Speedy tacked it back on as an interim solution until I can get the Budget B-pipe.
Again..that thing is hella loud.

Cool piece right there Fr33way, definately waiting for sound clips...although I'm sure I already know what it sounds like (I've had exhaust leak after exhaust leak, and of course started the car open headers when installing my ypipe).

I've driven around with an open y-pipe (middle of a y-pipe install and the cat wouldn't come off the old y ) and that was loud. I imagine atleast having a cat would quiet it down SOME...

As far as why didn't I do this or that....
The short distance that the exhaust DOES have to travel is all 2.5 inches and there is only ONE bend after the headers. I decided on the exit being turned down so that A.) the exhaust doesn't immeadiately rise while idling B.) I felt there would be less turbulence with the turn-down opposed to open pipe (like pouring a water bottle out completely upside-down) C.) in the rare event (now or in the future) that there is a good amount of backfire that it exits toward the ground and not the chassis.
As far as sound goes, it's pretty much just LOUD. There's a small small chance that I may have it on for our next meet and MDeezy may be taking video but I'm not sure. The idle is nice and throaty but it is just damn loud when revved. It does seem to rev quicker but I have no driving impressions as of yet. I'm hoping that on the HWY under light throttle (no accel or decel) it will won't be to bad for my ride to the track. I have run various stages of open exhaust and so far the HWY has been where I've been able to hear myself think.

I had thought of that....It's already pretty redneck as is however.
I have been reading the SR20 forums and that is actually a pretty common exuast setup for the race-prepped cars. Two resonators in a row and then a straightpipe to the side
