Cold Air Intake question need help...

Hi Guys,

I currently have a hot air intake which sucks cuz i am loosing power. I wanna switch it with a cold air intake instead however, someone told me i have to make hole on the body for the long pipe and filter. Is there a way i could avoid doing that and bypass it through somewhere else. Also wanted to know how efficient is the cold air intake for those who have it. Thanks in advance for all your efforts.

its chrome noisemaker if you get one. ur throttle response and low end will be a hell of alot better with the WAI setup you have now. i would go back to stock box too if i had it but i threw it out

It's not very hard to drill the hole. I doubt the intake adds any power, but it sounds nice. The CAI would be better than your hot air intake. I'de buy a cheap one off ebay and install it.

thats where the huge debate comes in...some say a TRUE CAI is better...others say stock is better....others will also say keep all the stock tubing from TB to MAF then do true CAI from maf to filter

wai= warm air intake. the best setup i have found for cai if you decide to go that route it a true CAI setup, u take a 3" hole saw and cut a hole on the inside of your fender and use the stock flex tubing that attaches to the throttle body not the supplied pipe. stock with holes cut in the bottom and a decent filter is much more efficient IMO

CAI arent all they are cracked up to be on our cars. I have on of the rare "Place Racing CAI" and it was an eazy install but its not a miracle tool
WAI= waste of time.
Stock your best bet.

BTW drilling the hole takes a total of 5 seconds.

Place Racing is a brand.

Switch to open MAF, path of least resistance FTW!!1

Place racing, you have to cut a hole near the battery and the filter sits behind the fogs. I have this setup and cut the plastic off the bottom of the car, I feel no loss and small gains on the highway.

Injen the intake sits behind the radiator.

Some people like injen because the amount of air is going to be greater than the place racing at highway speeds. Some like place racing because its farther away from the engine's heat.

Umm, no. You will lose torque with the short ram.

very true, I read that and was waiting for someone to go

As far as the PRCAI goes I noticed a greater pull in the winter, but in the summer no difference really except a noticable low to midrange increase. The topend though feels like its being restricted though.

Someone said there was a dyno floating around a while back I believe that showed the PRCAI actually had a small gain but better than other setups, "how much" is a point of debate and I'm not gonna be the one to research. Its all hear-say..

I'm never replying to another intake thread though.

I would rather go short ram than Injen, thats my opinion.

I hate pinging and I hate hot air.
