brake and battery light on....

brake and battery light on....

my brake and battery light comes on when the car is started and does not turn off. Anyone know what the problem might be???

Alternator....or less likely battery.

i just had my battery replaced not too long ago...and last winter i had my alternator checked out as well...

any other suggestions...

thank you all in advance....greatly appreciate your help

i just started a thread like this, another guy did, and now another one. Wouldn't hurt to check out a couple threads or search, but anyways, it's probably your alternator. This is what happened to mine and it's the alternator. Lucky for me there was a recall on 97 maxima alternators so I get mine fixed for free.

I also wouldn't drive your car too much since the battery probably isn't recharging.

Yea definately your alternator. Dont drive it until you fix it or you will get stuck somewhere.

+1 for Alternator. Do a load and no-load test. Make sure that there are 12V+ under no load and 13-14.5V+ under load across the terminals of your alternator. If NG, check that belt is not loose. You may be in for a rebuild.

Brake light usually means low brake fluid.
