Sorry but what are retrofits ??
i feel dumb asking this question, because ive never heard of this before til now. I posted a thread about getting which HID KIT to get, and someone in this forum said not to get the "retrofit". What is retrofit ? thanks...

its where u put hid lights inside regular headlight housings since our cars are wired for standard headlights

I still think they're a bit ugly in the max housing, egh w/e.

haha theres bi-xenons in 'rents G35. They rock, but they're not insanely better. I could buy HID's at anytime but like VIP Max I agree its quite ugly so I'll purchase glass headlights and deal with glare when I do them. Now the 5.5 Gen projectors are sick.

5.5 gen projectors as in the aftermarkets or the actual 2k2 headlights that came on the 5.5 gens??

Those are not projectors, thats a reflective based xenon which uses a D2R bulb to reduce glare.

If you're talking the aftermarket lens, don't really know anything about them, but I don't see them matching E46, E55 quality.

Just get a HID kit, unless you think you can do a retrofit.

I dont mean to hijack this thread but I am trying to take apart my clear stock corners and dont see a way. Should I heat them in the oven like I did the head lights?

That and projectors will actually put out more useable light than our dinky 9004 housings ever will.

If you have the cash I highly recommend it. I didn't retrofit mine, Andrew (maxgtr_2000) did mine. Many have done it though.

I worded that wrong I just meant 5.5 Gen HID, you're absolutely right they're not projectors.

okay, but let me get this straight. I can buy a HID KIT and still install it on my maxima right ? the only reason for the retrofit is to take out glare of the light ?

Yes, that and to have more of a useable light output. With the HID kits the light output will be everywhere,...... but you will have that "cool" color.
