lowered nj & ny maxes some help please
well i lowered the maxima on gr2s and teins....i went to have the car aligned and my hookup aparently took off to florida without telling a soul. So i went to firestone and they attempted to align it with no avail. i was told i needed aftermarket caster plates because the car had no adjustment. well the car pulls to the right and its driving me nuts i know quite a bit about maximas and cars in general but im by FAR a suspension pro and cant align a car myself in my crappy driveway. So any jersey or nyc maximas where did you get your lowered alignment done ? im willing to drive a bit to get there im sick of holding my wheel strait..... thanks !!
ive been to 3 firestones, 2 sts's a gulf station, a mobil station (lukoil), a small shop called west mountain alignment by me all with no luck and the same run around....sorry its lowered we cant do it. then HOW the fk do you align a lowered car ? someone here must ahve had this happen to them theres alot of lowered maxes here...whered u guys go ? my tires are gonna start hurtin soon.
I would try a bigger name shop, like Goodyear where they have the new Hunter Laser Alignment racks. I worked at the one by me and I know we did a couple of lowered cars. However, never a maxima.
The rear wheels dont get aligned on the maxima, its a solid beam. I forget how they do the fronts but, the reason why he told you that you need an aftermarket camber kit is that he can probably only adjust it so far, without the aftermarket kit. It could be way out of line

call south west auto works they have the camber kit for our car i think its an eibach one. I dont have the number but you should be able to find it hear on the org somewhere. the kit is about $20 get it then go get your alignment
anyone looking to get an alignment done on a lowered car go see sam at STS in north plainfield, NJ he hooked me up and aligned my car beautifully, rides like a champ. ive got s-techs and he got it on the first shot. so that PROVES a lowered car CAN be aligned.
did sam align them to factory specs? Or custom specs ? I'm curious because i do alignments at work. And i'm expecting at one point lowered cars would be coming in and i just wanted to get a headsup

i didnt need camber plates.
Im starting to see a lot of threads that have this problem. I dont want to lower my car and have all these problems. What exactly does the new chamber kit do? I've never actually figured that out.
