'F1 Racing' ever heard of them

Started looking at clutches and flywheels on the net. I've already settled on the Findanza Flywheel. Been reading and don't really need a racing clutch since I wont' be pushing 300hp anytime soon. On eBay ive seen Exedy OEM replacement and F1 Racing Clutch Kits for around $130-140. I emailed the seller and he said 'It is a semi-racing clutch made very streetable. It is made by Competition Clutch and/or Clutchnet.' Has anyone heard of or has a clutch kit installed my them. Or should I just stick to looking at the 5th gen OEM clutch.

dont have the time, money, or patience at the moment to go anything but N/A. I have a pop charger which is getting changed to a CAI very soon, and im replacing the y-pipe probably next month. Going to finish off the rest of the exhaust once i redo the suspension (Tokico blues w/ GC coilovers Baltimore's roads aint that good), and my audio. I'm not trying to cut corners, im trying to save money. But at the same time I don't want to spend money on something that is cheaper, but wont last as long just cause I didn't want to put up the extra $50-100 dollars

i bought the car 2 months ago from a guy in PA. trust me the road quality is like night and day. he lowered the car 2" in the front and 2.5" in the back he could get away with it up there. Baltimore is murder when it comes to streets. I'm going with the tokico illumina shocks&springs setup, FTSB rear sway bar, and im going to probably redo the bushings. its my first 5spd, and i learned (from my mechanic cussing me out) NOT to ride the clutch. its not slipping bad yet, but when i down shift to 2nd to stop he told me that he & I can feel the clutch not catching properly, its stutters. Can't complain though. The only other times i drove 5spd was dragging didn't have to worry to much about redlights and other traffic

If you're not making over about 220whp, the 5th gen clutch is BY FAR the best clutch you can get for a 4th gen in every way.

You want 2000-2001 clutch stuff, not 2002; 2002 was the first year of the 3.5L engine, and they switched to a different kind of clutch for that year. You will need the 2000-2001 clutch disc, pressure plate, and throwout bearing. MAKE SURE you get REAL NISSAN PARTS, not "Key Value" which some dealers might try to push on you.

And yes, Koni >> Illuminas, ESPECIALLY with Ground Controls. But try to go with some different springs if you can.

ok just to make sure do i have the right part numbers
clutch disc 30100-2Y904
Throwout bearing 30502-41U20
clutch cover (pressure plate) 30210-89F00
do i need the Pilot bearing, and Alignment Tool
d00df00d--> the whole shock&spring setup is coming out. I'm just going to have to do whatever I can to keep my car flat during 'spirited' cornering. is the illumina shock&spring setup worth the price

Don't know about the part numbers... Send a PM to DAVEB and ask him. In fact, ask him for prices, too. He is a great source for parts at very good prices. I got my 5th gen clutch kit from him.

About the pilot bearing... I thought our cars didn't use those things. Are you sure you're looking at the right thing?

You only need the alignment tool if you're doing the job yourself, or if the shop you're taking it to doesn't have one on hand that will work on your car.

Suspension wise, I definitely think you should get Koni Yellows with H&R or Progress springs and don't worry about the RSB for now. The Illumina kit is a great product, but while the springs might be good for your purposes, the Illuminas themselves might not cut it. If you want great handling but drive on really rough roads all the time, Koni is the only reliably good choice.

Holy crap. Are you serious?

That would mean the 5th gen clutch would hold well over 220whp...

i am sure the disk works as well....i mean the plate has to be same size as the disk to make proper contact....i would imagine they are the same.....or just use a 5th gen disk....the pressure plate gives u most of the holdin power

Of course they do. But the point is, unless you're making a ton of power -- i.e. with a highly tuned 3.5 swap, turbocharging/supercharging, and/or LOTS of nitrous -- a 5th gen clutch kit will hold the power just fine, and it will be smoother and easier to use, last longer, and cost a lot less.

Yes, you could use the 5th gen disc with that. I just want to make sure because even if the pressure plate fits both apps, it's possible that the splined portions on the clutch discs are different.

very true....i am trying to find an s15 disk part# to cross refernce but its tough not being a USDM model

I am looking and the s15 has 24 splines for the input shaft which would be obvioulsy the splines portion of the disc an and the hole is 25mm in diameter so anyone with a spare disc can measure

I lucked to have a mechanic in the family. He is about the only person that I trust to work on my car. I know he has a bunch of them at the garage but I want to make sure we have everything we need when i get the clutch
