98 Maxima headlight harness
98 Maxima headlight harness
Hey guys,
Just finsihed washin my car, and decided to take her out for a spin. I turned on my headlights, and i noticed one of my headlight bulbs wasn't working. I pop the hood, and find out that my left headlight harness 'cap' looks melted on the inside where the sockets go in from the bulb. Mind you, I am using nokya arctic whites on stock wiring. Im soo pissed right now! anyways, i was wondering if you guys happen to know how much i could expect to be billed by my mechanic to get this fixed tom. morning?
Thanks again.

The 9004 plugs are only about $3 each, high temp ones are about $15 a pair. You can get either at most autoparts stores. Its only going to take 10-20 minutes to replace one depending on how they connect them. Butt connectors would take less time than soldering.
you can probably do this yourself without having to pay someone to do this. all you have to do is get the plugs, cut the old ones, match up the wire correctly and either use connectors or solder. I prefer solder, but up to you.
sorry to hear that, but the same thing happend to me, I paid $25 EACH for 2 new stock wire harness from the dealer
and just did it myself with connectors and some black electrical tape to cover them up just for those rainy days. If it happened to me again with the knowlege I know now, I would go with the higher temp ones that way it's cheaper than the stock ones and theres no way you can burn them out again and you can have the nicer brighter lights...
Good luck
