Now I am in no way a mag racer but I recall seeing 6.7 as the result almost 100 years ago when they tested the Maxima. Also the brand new Si, which is a "sporty" car is slower than our POS's hahaha.
yeah that's smart..comparing it to a car that has 4cylinders and weighs more than a maxima..

even smarter was comparing a civic SI to a maxima.. LOL.. why dont you just compare a corolla to our maxima while you're at it

obviously the 4th gens can whip *** but if you're gonna do comparisons at least compare it to something that has 6 cylinders.

if you're gonna compare it to somethign..at least make sure the car has similar specs.. I.E. 6 cylinders and not an econobox. examples would be a mazda/mazdaspeed 6 or the new camry etc etc

lets just say the 4rth gen maxima is moderate IN ITS CLASS. Its not terribly slow, nor blistering quick, its in the middle. our cars were never designed to be a fast, track attack type of car. it serves as a NORMAL, modest, family grocery getter car with a little kick to it. after saying that, i kinda regret modding my car cause i want something that can handle w/ rwd or awd and more power, but its a hobby of mine so i do it...not for long though since i'm gettin a new car soon, someday

the 4th gen maxima is quick, just last week I took down a stock 1987 Civic, and later that afternoon schooled a toyota echo with aftermarket intake!

OK

Our test car also came equipped with the 3.0 liter V6 which pushes out 221 horsepower and 205 lb.-ft. of torque. With a zero-to-60 time in the mid 8 second range, this car's acceleration isn't going to blow your mind. That said, this engine's powerband seems to be perfectly matched to this chassis.
The funny thing is I never said Maxima's were fast.

Mazdaspeed 6? Why don't I just compare it to an Evo instead.....

all-aluminum turbocharged 2.3-liter, inline four-cylinder engine with direct injection rated at 274 horsepower at 5,500 rpm and 280 pound-feet of torque at 3,000 rpm

The maxima may not be fast okay, but if you're gonna be complete dumb @sses as far as cars that aren't yours then I think I may know what fast is, my dad has a Honda VTX1800 Neo (12 sec), my friend andrew 240sx (10.8 sec), and lastly my aunts ex husband (NZ) who has a V35 350GT TT thats rockin 650 to the wheels, damn fast as well. So please don't insult my intelligence on a forum it makes you look retarded for making an observation on someone you dont know, cant see, or know any background on.

Look I never said the maxima was the fastest car, my context was to say the maxima can be fast and N/A its not slow, go drive an accord or any other v6 of the same year thats N/A, or even now the 5.5 and 6th Gen still stand as great stock running cars (FWD). As far as the Trans am wher the hell did that come from, sit down.

Ricer? - right.......

I see a whole bunch of bull**** here. If Everyone on that list has a decent fast car then why are you the idiot saying maximas are fast? Therefore kiddo you don't know what fast is and your blowing **** out of your ***. Now you can have a seat and contiune to do ricer math.

I said they can be fast, dumb@ss, which is true (11.4 secs isn't slow and neither is 12 secs).. god no wonder half the ppl on here dont respect you. I remember coming on the .org for the first time to see you getting the hell flamed out of you for something and I've seen subsequent times that ppl have called you a total moron. and ricer math? typically as far as I've seen the ones who use ricer must have done some research on "rice" so right there you have more of an interest in rice than I do.

By acknowledging your lame comebacks and rediculous attempts at being pretentious I'm dragging myself down to your level, which is something I'll do no more. Feel free to die via rapid decompression.

yeah Jelly I'm not sure what it could be but does it really seem slower to you? I use to think my clutch was slipping after the first time I burnt it out and after a while I just figured it was "placebo effect."

Thanks MaximaSpd85, I will check the sensor tomorrow.
The car just feels slower like when I first got it I could like spin the tires at every green light if I wanted to (I was a stupid 16 year old), but now I cant.. idk maybe the car is just getting older, it still has alot of power so idk.. but I will be doing a tune up next weekend so i will se how that changes things!
Thanks everyone

And to **** some of you off: MAXIMA'S ARE THE FASTEST CARS IN THE WORLD!!!!!

J/K Thanks again everyone!
