engine trouble

I just put a new engine in my Nissan. Everything is together, all fluids in, everything hooked back up. One problem- engine will not start. When you turn the key, the starter goes and goes, but engine will not turn over. After about 5 seconds, the battery fades, and after a while, it will not even attempt to start. I took the battery to Autozone and had it charged back up. Same thing happened.

Things I have noticed:
-battery seems to fade VERY quickly. Battery test at Autozone showed good battery
-When I open the gas cap (as if to add gasoline) no escaping hiss sounds.

Any input would be helpful.

Don't know- how do you check if you are getting fuel? I mean, aside from the obvious of pulling a hose off the fuel filter or something like that.

I see you have a 94. Make sure all your wires are in the proper order to each cylinder ?? Pull your plugs. With all that cranking your bound to smell gas. If you dont then it could be a fuel issue. Fuel pump fuse ?
