Its not. If you know what you are doing, 45 minutes including jacking up the car and taking the wheels off.

just stop turning the piston when you feel it stop, pushing it past that will break a seal and cause a leak

1) remove wheel
2) remove caliper bolts
3) remove pads
4) insert new pads
5) compress caliper (turn clockwise....i think, don't tear boot)
6) reassemble

where did you go.....firestone?

if the piston doesn want to turn but the 8 dollar tool form autosone... its a cube with a bunch of nubs stickin out of it... u find the correct pattern and put an extencion with a ratchet and ur golden... if the piston has a hard time going in... then u need a new caliper...

It may not take an hour and twenty minutes, but the Nissan service manual has it listed as an hour and twenty, so thats how much a shop is going to charge you for, regardless of how long it takes them.

They have to make money to stay in business. If you don't want to pay for the labor, do it yourself. The stealership would have charged double that.

What I described IS being honest, thats how EVERY shop works. Every type of job has a time listed in a service manual somewhere and THAT is what the shop will charge you, thats what makes the shop honest.

If the job is listed as an hour and the mechanic ****s up and it tazkes 5 hours the shop still has to only charge you for one hour.

Pretty easy job. 1st time probably takes 2 hours, 2nd time may be 1 hour.

Since the rear calipers also have the ebrake integrated. Don't you need to remove the ebrake cables?????

Regardless, it will probably take just as much time to jack the car and take off the tires, as is to replace the pads.

Good Luck
