Just installed KSport lowering springs and have a question
Hi everyone...I got my KSport lowering springs installed a week ago (not coilovers, springs with 2.2" front and 2" back drop) with my KYB GR2 struts...Contrary to what most of you said, the ride is not as bad as I was expecting AND the drop looks real nice. Now here are my questions. After the first week of driving around, I'm hearing noise from the rear of the car not when going over bumps but more when I'm going over ruff road...It kind of sounds like the springs are moving around, but we all know that's impossible, at least the way I'm making it sound...can it be the bump stops or mounts? Second question is, will the car settle lower after a while or will the ride height stay the same from day 1 of install? Thanks for your time guys.
I've seen my suspension shift 1/2" in 20mins after being lifted off the ground. I can belive that good shocks have good low frequency performance and will take tens of seconds to reach steady-state.
Noises are generally bad. Are you sure it's not just a stiffer suspension making more noise on poor surfaces?

it could possibly be a worn out bearing or bushing that is making it self present now after the new suspension is on.
This happened to me with my old AGX/S-tech setup. turn out the rear strut bearing was very over stressed and was time to be replaced. Took about 1-2 weeks for it to start making a noticable squeeking noise.

I am about to install the k-sports that you are talking about, just wondering can these be used with oem struts, sorry to be a noob, but suspension isn't my thing, all i have done to the suspension so far is new oem struts. thanks in advance
what struts are best, and affordable, i know this has been rehashed forever but i dont understand when people throw numbers and names into a thread when i have no clue about suspension. again sorry to be a noob but i appreciate the help.
As someone suggested in my other thread, don't waste the time and effort by installing the springs on stock struts then having them blow 3 months down the line then guees what? Gotta do the whole thing over again, and if it's being done at a shop then that's another $200 or so for the labor not counting the new struts...I have KYB GR2 struts and it's working fine since I had stock springs. On the other hand, I'm SURPRISED at how smooth and consistant the ride is after dropping it...I was expecting all bouncy and bumpy ride like you see from civics and CRXs being dropped....but wow nothing like that...and needless to say the car feels MUCH stabler. Money well spent to acompany my other mods.
wow, these springs are even lower in the back then the ones I'm looking at buying... Question, do you have any subs in the trunk? Do your wheels rub at all with this low of a drop... Sorry I'm a noob when it comes to suspension.
Also, I thought the GR-2's were stock replacement for Maxima's... What good would it do to have these with that low of a spring?

IM HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM TOO. I JUST INSTALLED KSPORTS LOWERING SPRING WITH SOME TOKICO STRUT AND SHOCKS.AFTER INSTALLION I STARTED HEARING A LOUD THUMBING SOUND ON BOTH SIDE IN THE REAR OR THE CAR WHEN DRIVING , IT MAYBE THE BUSHING I THINK?? ANY ANSWERS GUYS ?? HELLLLP!.....
How is that possible? I am running coil overs( not sleeve kit) and lowered 3+ inches and very rare I would scrape.. which pipe is scraping for you?
I had the same problem (all the metal rods that connect to the hangers rusted off on my stock exhaust). Go to Midas or Mieneke and ask them to sauter new hangers on for you - cost me $75
I have had these springs along with KYB AGX struts on for at least 5-6 months now. I did hear a couple of noises after i first installed them but i dont anymore. Only noise i hear now it the front passenger side CV axle that needs to be replaced lol. Oh yeh and these springs do settle in after a while.
