I let someone drive my car. She had issues getting the handbrake off (I engage it every time I park), and ended up breaking the release button. At the moment, it still functions, but fully extended it's flush with the handle; depressed it's inside the handle.

Can I replace just the handle, or do I have to replace the whole assembly? How much is the part I'll need?

i found your problem but not sure how to fix it.

but seriously, i'm sure you already did this, but unbutton the boot and take a look at the assembly. do the two sides of the brake lever unscrew from each other? seems like a spring is out of place or something.

There is a spring in there, it likely popped off of the top where is sits on the button, just take it apart an realign it
