question about replacing rear wheel bearing
the title says it all. i need to know what i will need to replace the driver side rear wheel bearing. once i get the wheel and brakes off do i simply remove the center cover on the hub and take the bolt off or what? would it be easier to replace the entire hub or go ahead and try to do just the wheel bearing. im not totally sure if i will need the entire hub assembly or just the wheel bearing, but i dont want to do only the bearing if both need replacing.

Replace the whole assembly unless you have a press to replace the bearing in the hub.
Remove the brakes the the center cap and unbolt the hub, if the bearing has been going for any amount of time be prepared to cut the inner race which will be stuck on the spindle.
I just used a dremel and some cutting blades until I could crack it with a chisel.

same question, I have access to a machine shop at work and would like to just replace the rear bearings. Are the front and rear bearings the same? The auto parts store says they have bearings, but they are not listed as front or rear. Here is the part # K8000-31517 NSK
