Purge the R-134 and try again?
My A/C has been running poorly, consistantly at about 15 degrees under ambient temp. After reading the Haynes manual about a condition like this, I bought a can of R-134a and topped off. Now I have the problem of intermittantly working A/C. It will be properly cold for 10 minutes, then blow ambient air, then get cold again. I've got a 98 GLE with the auto climate control. These temps are with the climate control on "auto", at 65 degrees and full fan.
I think the problem that I'm now experiencing may be from introducing air into the system. I didn't open the valve to the hose before plugging it into the low-side to push the air out of the tube. I've read that what I'm experiencing may be caused by humidity in the air that may now be in the system is freezing, keeping the whole A/C system working improperly.
Any other thoughts that could be causing the symptoms that I'm having? If my logic is correct, what is the proper method to purge the refrigerant and start over again?

I think you overfilled it bro. take some out then try to see if it does the same thing again. Does the compressor make a weird noise like running on a heavier load? My dad did the same thing on mine last year and after taking some out it didnt do it anymore.
