make sure everthings bolted on tight.
otherwise you make need to machine the rotors to make them smooth and flat.

when my 3kgt did it, the rack and pinion was shot. no other signs at all, but after rotors and all of it thats what it was. Start with the rotors though =]

There have been NO reports of a rack and pinion causing shaking symptoms in a Maxima.

Not saying there has, but it certainly could be a cause. My 3000 did it, i know of a prelude that had that issue, and my dads mustang 5.slow had a similliar issue that resulted in control arm bushings. It is most likely the rotors, but im giving him an alternative possibility in case it is not.

If you have a manual trans then its probably your spark plugs are not firing right when there is no load on the engine so get a tuneup. If you have an automatic then its probably your clutches when your not accelorating or somting?

Why would anyone resurface rotors that warped in the first place????
Resurfacing or machining rotors will only make them thinner and more likely to warp faster. Buy the cheapies at a parts store. My $28 Napa rotors are holding up.

If you do your front brakes and the car still shakes, then its the rear rotors. I say this from experience.

I have the same problem. Shakes at high speeds, and stopping at slow speed i can feel the brakes not stoping consistently. Just put on new brakes, and 2 new rear calipers. Still got the shakes. So the next step is the rotors

Rotors for sure! It was the rears for me. I replaced the front twice before saying wtf? Replaced the rear rotors/pads and smooth breaking is back!

Other things to consider: wheel bearing (and seals), tie rod ends
If it feels like shaking/shimmy, maybe brake fluid going bad or brake master cyl
