ive owned bimmers - they dont have the heart they feel cold

with the right tuning and combo of parts.....the finish lines the limit....
One of the last cars I had was a C350,tell you what man..beautiful inside and out but repairs, uggh. Not that it had any excessive repairs but the ones it did have whew...how about $175 for an oil change? or 700 and change for a tune-up?dude I was already stretching myself financially to have the car, then to upkeep it,it was impossible. Was nice while it was here though....I feel ya on some of them other rides too, I had a 01 Stang, typical Ford ****,had a Lex GS400 that was just boring yet I'm diggin this max,its just a cool mix of style and performance without being cheesy, which is how I felt about the lex.

I love my maxima. Got in a car accident and totaled it though which sucked, but took the insurance money and bought another max without looking at another kind of car! It looks good, has a nice kick to it and gets great gas mileage. Was lucky to get such a great car for my first car!

I own a 13.2 1/4 mile truck, max is just my weekday car and i get 16 mpg more in the max than in the truck.

I just burned 55 dollars of gas last sunday when I went to the philly races in the truck. Ha I averaged barely 8mpg that nite.

I wont ever let my Maxx go! 20 yrs from now, i'll still have it! My car has been in a flood, hit from the front, hit from back, stolen and recovered...... everybody tells me to get rid of it, but its just a part of me... So if it takes me having to buy engine, after engine, after engine... I guess thats what i'll do!! Dont get me wrong.. i'll eventually buy another car.. but my Maxx stays!
Can you tell i'm happy with it!?

Meh I want an F15C but it uses more gas than ur F16 and its $20,000,000 price tag is another issue... Janes Sims will have to do for now.

Think about it for $3,000 you can have the same 3.5L engine as the new Nissans. Thats a hell of a lot cheaper than buying a G35, Altima, Maxima, etc. And I still think my 95 interior beats the interiors of these newer cars.
Its not all about engine... theres alot more to a car than that. One big difference is the IIHS crash test ratings. www.hwysafety.org When you look up the maxima, youll find that the 4th gen did pretty horrible, the 4.5 gen did bad, the 5th was decent, and the 6th gen was good. Also at 10yrs old, your car is really starting to wear out and become dated. Your handling now sucks compared to newer cars, your seats look worn out, and then you notice all the features new cars have that you don't. I'm not saying that the max is not a great car because it is, but just putting in a 3.5 will not make it a new car.

it is all about the engine. why do you think peopel are swapping over to vq35

crash ratings? thats the last thing on peoples minds. and all the things that you have listed can be improved and replaced.
seats= you have alot of different options
handling= alot of different options as well
about the features though imo i dont need them because when i get into the maxima i actually drive it and dont have time to be looking aroudn and playign aroudn with all different sort of gadgets.

Depends on what shape your maxima is in before the 3.5. In my case, my car is completely new now. The body and paint is in excellent shape, and the suspension is brand new and handles great. Nothing beats no car payment.

I love my 1990 australian spec maxima, But for the fuel mine consumes, i might as well be driving a big block V8. I get around 450-500 kms per tank, driving no more than the limit, mostly on highways, which i think is total crap. Most of my friends drive VS 96-97 Holden Commodores (or in the states a 'chevy lumina') with a 3.8lt pushrod motor, of which they thrash all the time and get same mileage as me . Before i got this maxima i was going to buy a E32 BMW 735il, but i guess that wouldnt have been any better?..

I just hate the insurance payment! For the price I pay every year for insurance, I might as well have gotten a 2 door car. My payment was $2100 per year starting out. Then my mom got a 6 gen maxima, and my payment went to $2400, just becuase there is a possibility that I will drive it....She won't even let my dad drive it (haha). I don't mind the actual car, just how much it costs to drive (but I guess being 17, what can you expect? Insurance is a total money racket.).

Put me to the test with handling with my Max vs a new car, my car would outhandle that car and look good. It's all about the mods you do to your car to make it better, whether it be performance, looks etc. My car looks brand new because i basically got what alot of the new cars got, excluding some features..

same here, z's are better. my max has 140K and still runs great. when it dies or gets too old, my next car will either be a 350Z or a 5.5 gen Maxima. im not a fan of the 6th gens, but i love the 5.5 gens, and i love 4th gens.

Well stated my man!! My roommate just bought a 2003 Mercedes C230 Kompressor. Sweet a$$ car, but he can have the payment of $435./mo. My 99 SE-L has 135k and runs like a champ and costs me $185/mo, including insurance and looks very nice and has never left me stranded either.

I like my I30, i hate the auto, but it is nice to have here and there, overall id much rather have a manual. the engine is killer, never misses a beat, pretty fast, i need new suspension, and all the time i debate whether to get rid of her, but i always end up deciding that there are only 2 makes i would get rid of her for (used and in my price range) BMW's and Porsches, and i wont get the relibility out of them, and this car is too good to let go. someday ill buy a nice used porsche (944,968,928, or a real old, fix-er-upper 911) and ill keep my I30 as a winter car, and a damn nice one at that, but until then, i cant complain too much, except about the brakes, which damn well better get much much better when i put my PBR pads and brembo blanks on, cause i swear right now there dangerous, and my suspesnion, which i cant really ***** about on a 92k mile car

Are you saying your nose-heavy front driver can outhandle a G35? If so, that probably did not come cheap.

1)Where are you getting this depreciation factor?..

2)obviously you haven't known anyone whose 350z has had problems, I'm not gonna get one thats for sure (my friends a/c **** fell off and another friends had a short in the headlight harness) and another thing they had to put more metal to reinforce the body due to it being a hatch, = more weight. I'd also like to see you seat 5 comfortably in a 350z.

3) you're probably right but not by much.

As far as the more power where are you getting that from?.. If you referring to the track version that you pay out the @ss for, for another 13hp, that extra hp affects something else and lowers whatever it si, yet what it was eludes me.

Lastly you can't even hope to touch the luxury of the G35 with the 350z.

The only one we looked into buying was the track version and with everything considered the G35 is a better buy IMO.

Maximas are cool. They have that wow factor because not too many people modify them. As far as having a faster car, you can get a faster car but just be aware that there is always going to be a faster car out there. Sometimes I get the new car blues also but when I do I just go for a little drive and see that most people my age drive civics with unpainted bodykits and hatchbacks with missing rear bumpers and 13 inch steelies with 1 working headlight with different color panels. Then there are people who are twice my age that don't drive a car thats all that nice. I'm very thankfull to have found my Maxima plus I can't sell it now cause I just had my tranny fully rebuilt so it's basically a new car now!

Man, I will keep my 95' Black Max 5-speed until the day she dies. She has 248,000 miles on the same engine and tranny. And she can still chase down some of the faster cars. I recently put about 5 grand in her...and I am very happy with her. Its like having a new car all over again

yes, i was referring the track and also the anniversary edition and yes i know there expensive as *****, i would rather get an STi, which is what i want. and i'm also aware that infinities are more luxurious than nissans. and i was comparing it to the coupe version, not the sedan.
and i'm sorry ur friends z's having some problems, i guess u can expect that kinda of stuff from nissan.
