HEADLIGHT Problem!!!

hey there I dont know what the problem but it never happened before when i changed my original bulbs to those hids bulbs like 6 months ago and it went off. First the left side went off then after the right side soo both of them went off. The guy told me the bulbs last to 6-8 months and I got the bulb like in december so now it runs outt. So I go purshase the new bulbs same ones and i put them in & test it if it works but it didnt seem to work both of the sides so I moved the plug around a bit then it worked. Now the right side bulb is working fine cuz the plug is not in all the way inside the bulb sticking out a bit, but its working now the left side bulb keeps going off when i turn the car off and put it back on then seems to goo off, then i gotta move the plug around a bit n push it in a bit to make it go on. I dont know what happen can someone help me please.

you burnt your headlight sockets, trying to put those wanna-be fake HID bulbs in.

thats your problem. how to fix it, upgrade your sockets. Don't know how to do that, donate to .org and then search for 9004 sockets.

all depends on what the wattages is. those hid bulbs are rated near 100w's and stock ones are 55w.

to anyone putting a 100w bulb in a 55w socket means there will be problems.

when you get the sockets you can either go 9004 or 9007. all this info is going to be in a thread, just search for 9007 after you donate.

sockets are roughly $5 a socket you need 2 of those. a little time cutting and splicing. and a set of bulbs.

go to vqpower.com, on the left, pick How-to and pick 4th gen and scroll down, you'll see a link for the write up on a 9004 to 9007 conversion

since you need new harnesses either way. going from 9004 to 9007 is a matter of switching 2 wires around. And filing 2 nubs off your headlights.

I would suggest either silverstar bulbs or Xtravisions. I'm thinking since you went with HID wanna--be bulbs you might look into getting silverstar bulbs for $40 USD at your local stores. They put out a lot more light then your HID bulbs, but they dont have the blueish look. Silverstars do have a nice white light tho better then reg bulbs.
