Adjust headlights
How the heck do I adjust the headlights. I cant see a friggin thing on the highway. I know theres a diagram somewhere. And Chiltons didnt do a good job of explaining what I should be looking for on the headlight itself. I got on aftermarket headlight and 1 nissan headlight (previous owner crash).

there are ***** that are on the end of some long threaded screws that come pretty much straight out of the back of the headlights. There are 2 on each light, one for height and one for left and right. They come out through openenings in the grey housings that are used to mount the headlights. You may need a plyers to turn them depending if they are stuck or rusted at all

On the radiator side of each headlight there are two long screw that come off the light with plastic pieces on the end. Top is for horizontal, bottom one is for vertical. I used a 5/16 socket I believe to adjust mine. If there are tight then use some wd to loosen them. Then use sockets. Pliers were too much of a PITA, for me at least.

you have to have a perfectly level surface...proper tire pressure and a white wall to do it yourself correctly. i went to the nissan dealer twice to get my 200sx 's headlights aimed after i replaced them and they did a crap job! uneven lighting. Try to find an inspection station that has the old headlight aimer that rolls in front of the car....these do wonders and give you a solid even distribution of light that is very noticeable....headlights being in allignment arent part of the inspection process anymore so youll have to call around to find a place that still has it. The place i went to had it in storage and had to pull it down just for me. Good luck

Or just keep the car on a even surface. Keep the car 25ft from the wall and use a strip of tape running vertical on the wall where the center of the car would be, and one strip horizontally the same height as the actual housings. Low beam hot spots should be almost level with the horizontal strip and hot spots from high beams should be above that line. Space the lights evenly for left and right. It's not a huge deal. It's more about you being able to see correctly. Not like you'll get pulled over for badly aimed lights.
