Quick ECU question..

I just wanted to know i have a 98 Gxe and i dint know the thing comes with a speed limiter stock. I wanted to know if replacing the ecu with a 97-98 maxima SE 5spd ecu would work and if its going to throw any CELs. I will still be keeping my stock ECU just as a back up. thanks

Why do you need to go more than 115mph?

And if you do, just remove the limiter. It's in the stickies. No need to change out the ECUs.

If you mean this one http://www.sprintmax.com/tails/bensecumod.htm , it does not work.

Dont worry i do not go that fast on city streets. I am trying to redo the motor and if all goes well, Build a really fast N/A max. If i can touch the Mid 13s all motor i will be happy. I was thinking that the trap speeds would high as well and i did not want be put off by a minor ECU problem. I was think of getting one ECU done through TS. IF so i will always have the car on the road.( It is my daily driver )

If you replace the ECU with an SE one, it should work just fine as long as it's from the same type of car (i.e. Fed spec, 5-spd, same year)
