Painting Rotors

After about a month of having my Brembo rotors on, they are RUSTY AS ****. I hate it. It's so visible with my rims, too. It looks very ugly. Is there a special kind of paint I can coat the rotor with (of course I'm not talking abotu the part which contacts the brake pads)? What can I do? :-(

Thanks,
Dan

I can use "caliper paint" on top of the rust? Or how would I get the rust off first?

Thanks.

Also: My calipers are rusty like crazy, too. And I REPLACED the calipers at the same time I replaced my rotors (about a month ago) when they locked up.

aren't all brembo's zinc plated which prevents rust? my RTPs are and there fine right now.

dunno, not a brake expert or anything but maybe sand it briefly then apply it or just clean it then paint it

Ok, thanks. If anyone else has any professional advice, it would be greatly appreciated.

I bought the rotors from one web site which was doing a group deal one day. I would be extremely pissed off if the rotors were not genuine. In fact, this evening I may try to find their site and give them a call if this is true and that they are supposed to have "zinc" plating supposedly.

Not all rotors are zinc plated.

Use some grey or black caliper paint. My rotors are really rusty too. I sanded them when I painted my calipers, but soon after they got rusty again. I should have got some extra paint to do the rotors while I was painting.

I used a few Rustoleum products when I painted the hub portion on my rotors. There is a rusty surface primer you can buy as well as a high-temp paint as well.

Not all Brembo's are zinc plated! I bought a set from the GD, still haven't installed yet, but now I think I will paint them first!

On the outer part of the rotor, they should be stamped w/ #'s & Brembo.

I believe only the cross drilled and slotted rotors are plated. I've had both front and rear brembo blanks and they both have rusted.

Wrong again. Nothing is going to be zinc plated unless it flat out says "Zinc Plated."

I sanded my rotors first, to free the loose rust. Then I used a rustoleum primer and a caliper paint. My rotors have been fine for a year and a half now.
