it looks good and the mesh style is cool but i dont like how transparent it appears up close, the hood latch is too visible. also idk if this is just the pics or whatever but the bottom looks like theres a little gap. i dont mean to be a downer tho cuz overall it looks good.

In some of those pictures, the hood is opened so you can see it better. But with the hood closed, it really doesn't show through much.

As for the gap, it is very small and hardly noticeable, only visible to someone who really looks for it. The camera makes it look more than what it actually is.

You are entitled to your own opinion. I respect that. Thanks for your opinion.

Whether you like it or not, you have to agree that it is unique. That is what I was going for.

ya that is true about the hood being open verse closed. and the gap is no biggie.

off topic: where did you get those smoked bumper lights and how much? i still got the ambers and the smoked would look good on my black max.

The smoked bumper lights i did myself. I started with clear bumper lights and used NiteShades by VHT (?) to smoke them. You probably could just smoke the orange ones with the same affect.

i have to agree, the idea and workmanship looks good but the mesh is just too fine. thats the only reason i like the stock grille ...or the only reason i've kept it.
i was considering trying something just like this but i just cant seem to find a plastic mesh thats as thick as the stock look.

Wow, Nice work. what did you have to do to install it? What do you think looks better, the "diamond" style or the "race" style??

I think I like it better with the stock grill behind it. I have the same aftermarket grill on mine.

This is not really going to be easy to tell you without detailed pictures, but I'll try my best.

The install was mostly cutting up the stock grill. I didn't really have a good saw to use, so i used a swiss army knife saw and a hacksaw blade (be sure to wrap the blade with duct tape on one end so you don't cut yourself). It worked very well. I cut the bottom of the grill off completely and pretty much all of the rest. I only left the top corners, bottom corners and the ends of the top part of the grill that is solid. You will see that there are some areas that are solid, those are the places i used for mounting. These are the corner places i am trying to speak of.
I used a drill to put holes in the corner places and the top tabs.
After that I painted what was left of the grill black because it was a grey color after cutting.
When that dried, I used zipties in the holes i drilled to securely attach the grille-tech grill to the stock grill.
I made a picture of where the zipties are to better give you an idea.

I hope this helps some. Please ask more questions and i will try to help you if you do this.

As far as what style I like best, well, i have the race style, so i must like that one the best. The diamond may look good too, but a lot of people have that style already, and i wanted something different.

That's cool. I just didn't want the leftover nissan logo showing through. So this solved that and more. But it does look good with it over the stock grille, especially if you do have the nissan logo on.

Well, since I didn't really know what i was doing to start with, I took my time and was cautious with it. I cut less out to start with and then realized i wanted to cut the whole thing. So an accurate guess for the entire project is hard to do.
At least give yourself an afternoon to do it. Maybe an hour to cut out the pieces. Then only a few minutes to drill the holes. Half hour to paint it, so maybe a half hour to dry. Then intall, 20 minutes or so. Possibly a few hours, but I wouldn't rush it. Take your time, you probably don't want to buy a new grill if you mess up.

Good luck. Let me know how it works and if you have questions.
