Weird noise...
I rarely pop my hood when the engine is warm, but there is some sound on the left side of the motor, it sounds like a ticking sound, I reved it to 6k, everything is ok, gave it a couple of 6k rpm runs in 1st gear, its automatic, everything seems fine though, power is still good, gas mileage is ****ty, please don't even ask... Knock sensor been changed around 6 months ago, I just do not know if its supposed to make weird noises at idle at warm temperature, can it be an injector or something? Also, I'm wondering can it be like a loose belt or something? Or slipping belt? I can't imagine my VQ going out on me, I love it to the max.

you said left side? does it make that ticking sound when you gas it? or does it do it while idling? my car used to do that but i got the A/C compressor replaced and now the sound is gone. my sound though was more of a high pitch squealing noise...might be the belt tensioner but get a second opinion.

I even took mine to a dealership and they didnt even try to rob me,the guy listened to it for a few seconds and instantly said it was the injectors....said its very common for these cars to have loud injectors... I even went as far as to ask him was this a sign of impending doom and how much would it cost to fix he assured me it was not.W/o hearing it I guess its not gaurenteed, but probably the same thing although to me it sounds more centered, not just from the left side of the engine
