Whaddap, I got the greddy sp2 on my 98, and the tip sticks out alot more then I like it to.

I was thinking to cut about 1.5 inches of the tip right behind the muffler and weld it back on. Question is how safe is this to do. I payed alot for the exhaust and dont want to **** it up. Also how much can someone possibly charge to cut 1.5 inches off and weld it back on?
Next the other problem about the sp2 is how low the b-pipe hangs....

I've read up on some things and about the only way I found to raise it is to get some stiff exhaust hangers.... I went to some local performance shops and they do not sell anything but stock exhaust hangers... Anyone know where I can buy stiffer then stock ones so that it holds the exhaust a bit higher?
Thanks for any input,
Matt

Not much you can do get some hoseclamps and put them around the rubber hangers and tighten it up that should pull it up some but I dont know if it will be enough to notice a difference.
My budget b-pipe hits my axel now. I need to do something quick to fix it. There shouldn't be a problem with cutting the b-pipe a little and then re-welding. That's the only way my b-pipe fit my car right.
I would not recommend cutting anything. My exhaust used to sit perfectly flush witht eh bumper. However, my b-pipe was hitting when i would go through bumps or railroad tracks. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. All eaftermarket exhausts, don't always fit right. I've seen a couple of other SP2's fitting the same way.........

Ok, I only drove 50 miles with my SP2 and the **** is melting my bumper. I did the hose clamp mod, and it helped a little bit. But its still too close to the bumper. Is there any other way?
I started to hack up the melted bumper, but I don't want to get too carried away.

My bpipe hangs low. The exhaust shop and I took a look at how we could maybe get it to sit somewhat higher. We kind of piveted the bpipe where it connects to the cat. It still sits low, but with my drop I haven't had any problems with it scraping anything.
It seems GReddy only built the SP2 for 95-96 years, it always seems the 97-99s have the major issues with the SP2s.
