Question: Trunk lid swap

How hard is it to swap a trunk lid that does not have a spoiler on it with one that does? Do I need to replace a part of the wiring harness?

I want to be able to just take my old (non-spoiler) trunk lid off to replace with a trunk lid that has the spoiler on it... my concern is the third light that is built into the spoiler. Will this cause me a headache?

Why dont you just attach a spoiler to your current trunk lid? Just pick up a spoiler from a junked maxima and take it off, hell if i can take off a spoiler im sure you can. Im about 90% sure this can be done, but im not sure how much it would cost against a entire trunk lid.

My real goal is to get the newer trunk lid from the '99 I found. I like the look of it better then the '96 trunk lid that came with mine! The spoiler does not make that much difference to me as far as looks are concerned. But if I get this trunk lid with the spoiler, I'd like to know that I could use the third light that was built in it. I don't really want to have to replace any wiring to acomplish this though.

The stickies have all the info you'll need regarding the swapping the 95/96 to the 97-99 body parts.

Not sure if I'm gonna get the '99 deck lid or not... But if I do, you'll be the first to know!!!

And I will sell my '96 deck lid if I get the '99.

I already found a gold one for $200... same color as mine!

Is $200 a good price for the trunk lid with spoiler?

I guess so. For some reason i feel like trunks are too damn expensive. But I'm getting mine spoilerless for 125.
