Is it my CV Joint, Bearings, Ball Joint? Help Please
Whats goin on everyone. It's been awhile since i've hung around the .org since i've been to broke to mod anything, and watch all your Max's gets depressing after awhile, haha.
Anyways, recently my maxima has been making a clicking/popping sounds when I make sharp turns (ex. 3 point turn, parking, etc.).
From reading in here earlier, and searching around im assuming its my CV joint..maybe? Im not mechanic, but I know plenty of you guys are either mechanics or know you way around cars. I'm hoping this isnt an expensive repair, but regardless its gotta get taken care of before it gets worse.
Thanks for the help .org memebers, you guys always come through.

If you are not a mechanic or at least handy with tools, I suggest that you take your car to someone that is. Suspension and brakes are everyday safety components that need regular attention. Sure, you could do the work yourself for less, but not if you don't know what you are doing. There are lots of ways to modify or personalize a car, but in the end every one of them need the regular maintenance stuff to get them around safely. At least get a second informed opinion. It is really difficult to diagnose noises and such without seeing the car.
just noises or is there vibrations along with the noises too? can you feel it in the steering wheel? does it have similar noises when changing between acceleration and deceleration? is it coming from both sides? please give us some more info for a reliable response - or take it to a mechanic.
Thanks for the words guys.
The sound only happens when turning, I can hear it for sure on the left, and I think its on the right as well. And, there is no vibration that goes along with the sound. I had a feeling it was the CV joint, but having a few words from some more experienced guys was exactly what I needed.
Motorvates website goes over the process for taking switchin the old CV joints out and with one of my mechanic friends im sure we can pull it off, if not I have to find myself a trustworthy mechanic. To anyone who has done this, how hard is this entire process?
**Add-on** if anyone can link me up with some sites where I can buy the parts,m that'd be cool. Save me some money.

I'm fixing to do my cv joints too. I was also wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction to get a good aftermarket cv joint that's not rebuilt. So far, here is where I think I'm getting mine: http://www.raxles.com/default.aspx
Hmm This seems like the right thread to ask my question.
I am having a problem when I turn left I get a clicking/popping noise on the driver side. I cant seem to pinpoint the problem. When I first begin to turn left it pops and then usually I turn harder and it pops again or twice but it doesnt do it all the way through the turn just for a sec and it done. It also seems to make the noise when I am bringing the wheel back straight. Does anyone know the problem?

4 foot pipe.. works everytime.. i just went to a junk yard and removed the nut with no whells or shocks on the car.. all i had was my trusty pipe 1/2 inch drive ratchet with a 36mm socket..and a crowbar... got it off in 3 seconds...
