Is it worth it???

I have a 95 se auto, its got about 140k and still running fine.

But lets say down the road, the tran. starts to act up, would swapping it for a 5sp. Manual a smart idea? or should i just be looking for another car?

I dont know much about cars, this is my first, so im going to require some basic car info.

Im kinda iffy about this because i've been reading that 95se auto's suck and they're slow. I really want this car to handle and perform well, but is it worth it in the end?...being a auto.

Any input is greatly appreciated, Thanks!

get rid of the autotragic!

if the tranny starts to go, id say just get rid of it before it does. if you fix the tranny, you better keep that car for another 150k+ miles

lol

I would if i knew how. I've never worked on a car before besides installing new shocks on my dads Explorer, not that hard.

Any other info or opinions?

Thanks NAPHi.

im approaching 140 k as well and mine is still fine. im not sure what i would do and since i really dont know how much an AT tranny costs to replace its hard to say. it really justs depends on what YOU want to do. i am the type of person who is fairly competent when it comes to mechanical things and if i had the money would do a 5spd conversion in a heartbeat.

Yea, I agree. Its more efficient for my tranny to give me all that it has left and THEN do the swap.

Thanks for the input guys.
