maybe i should rephrase it. when i WAS 16-17 i use to do them all the time, i didnt think about the concequences of them, all i cared about was having fun, and i still do. I think my classifcation of a burnout is different then others, my definition of one is basically spining the wheels when taking off either smoking them or leaving rubber. I rarely do burnouts in my car, not worth it anymore they dont seem as fun as they use to, and FWD burnouts = weak. when i drive the g35/350z/supra burnouts and donuts are ALOT more fun. oh ya and about the tires, i get them for freee from work and i install and balance them myself, so my cost = 0$ and the tires in most cases have about 40-50% left.

My parents have a G35, before that they had a 300zx. I have the Maxima and a 280zx and had a S14b before that. Moral: I still think burnouts are lame.

everyone is open to voice there opinion, yours was stated, so was mine, as we can see ours differ, but lets not turn this into a flame fest and end it here.

Burnouts are cool (for someone else) to do but personally I think it just wears on the car alot if you do it constantly. Once or twice won't hurt but you never know when something might break on that one time that you do it.

I'd watch someone else do it on their car if they wanted to, but i wouldnt do it with my car...only time i did burnouts was in a parking lot in the snow, and a grass field....that doesn't really damage the mechanics of the car

but about the clutch, is it smooth? i have a feeling my car has a sh!tty cheap clutch because it was replaced at 26k miles by the previous owner, and the pedal is really rough. It doesn't slip but the pedal just feels like azz...every other car i've driven feels better. Does the 5th gen clutch feel like the 6th gen? i've driven a 6th but not a 5th manual

Having never replaced the flywheel on a Maxima, I haven't seen what the internals look like... is the flywheel held on with a big hex nut, with a lot of torque applied to it? Do you need an impact gun to get it off?

I only know about swapping flywheels from my multiple Mazda RX-7's... the flywheel is held on with a 23mm nut that you need an impact gun with AT LEAST 750ft/lbs of torque to get it off. We had to use the "Jesus Gun"... an 1100lb/ft impact gun from Snap On that made it look like it was nothing.
