HELP...Sensor Issues.

I tried searching but could not find what I was looking for.

My maxima has been acting up for quite a while. Throwing the EGR code after about 10 minutes of running, and being reset of course. I have cleaned the EGR and passages and what not, and did all the test and it seems to be operating on par with the info I found on here in the write ups.

Question is more stemmed from a performance stand point. Will a malfunctioning EGR Valve, or blocked passage, in other cases, cause any performance problems. My car use to run strong, and has never thrown the dreaded Knock sensor ghost code, but does somewhat have a loss in torque and and power, and seems like around 3500 and up, it does not accelerate smoothly, at WOT any more. Not sure how to explain, may have to post a video or something. Just really annoying. Almost like a surge in power here and there.

To get to the point, here are the questions.....

-Will a semi-functioning knock sensor throw a Code?
-And will a bad EGR valve, or passage problems affect performance as described.

Checked codes again tonight and it looks like the speed sensor is out now to...... Another $35 or so gone to modern technology.
1year with the Maxima and I have replaced so many sensors and other crap I am wondering if I should just get rid of it. Give me some insight. I would say the CEL has been on all but one month of ownership form one thing or another.

Well just cleared and checked codes again. This is a freaking ridiculous endless cycle of BS. Never have I had so many problems with a car.
Could someone please give me some insight on this never ending quest of mine to get the cel to go away without just removing the bulb, infact, has anyones CEL bulb ever brunt out?.. I may be the first.

the vehicle speed sensor might be the sensor on the steering knuckle/front brake rotor, i think is where its at, for ABS if you have it. the absolute pressure sensor is probably absolute manifold pressure, so it would be around the intake manifold somewhere.... you can check these sensors with a multimeter im sure, but i dont know what their supposed to read. check your egr valve, it should open and close when you rev the engine. i dont know man, i hope that helps a little....

im pretty sure a knock sensor can go bad without complelty dying. if thats the case, then you will feel a difference. i dont know about the EGR system though, im not sure if it affects performance, i think it does, but not much, but im not sure either

Have you inadvertently disconnected any hoses? Do you have a shop manual? If you can locate the parts that are going bad and test each one, you may find what you are looking for. Some you may not be able to test. There are hoses on the ABS pressure sensor that can come loose or break. Poke around inside, locate the parts that are accessible and look them over.
