I've used large sockets to drive them in equally, I've always had a friend around to help start get them in it helps having an extra set of hands around. I've had some serious trouble getting the passenger side seal out, in the end the only thing that worked was a sild hammer, might be a good idea to mark on the case how far the old ones are so you have a refrence to see if there in all the way

What I did was put the old seal over the new seal and then use a rubber mallet to pound the new seal in. There are actual tools that you can use to do this job. THe specs and info on this install are in the I30 5spd tranny FSM sticky.

just get a big enough socket and a hammer... i did that no problems.... to remove the old ones use a flat head or a crow bar... just be careful not to get dirt inside or not to scratch the mating surface.. remember that seal has a real hard lip

Yeah, you really don't want to mess up the mating surface... could lead to a world of hurt.
