1996 gle amp?

does the 96 gle have an amplifier? i want to install a carpc and route it to the sound system. nm found it. passanger side right?

I'm surprise you still have the factory radio when i had my car the lcd went the cd player went i had to use a tape player adapter to rock my cds

But, to your question about removing the factory radio.. the amps on each speaker would need to be disconected.. due to the factory radio powering them up however, I did remember back then there was someone that tried to use the amps by using a relay switch to supply power to them it'll be tricky and be a cheap way to power your speakers.. one question is the factory speaker 8ohms or 4oms?

You can interface to the factory speaker amps - which are balanced line input - using either a bal->unbal line transformer, such as is used by studio engineers, or with a little electronic bal->unbal convertor box. Sorry to sound technical about this, but it IS technical...
