Fleabay: Maxima Performance Chips $20-$69.99

Has anyone actually tried any of the several knock-off brands that sell "chips," resistor mods, or other in-line devices that supposedly work for a wide range of cars but are perfectly suited for our specific car. They change a/f and advance timing. There is no regulation to any of these devices and no liability if your car implodes. The best one I saw had a dial you could turn to "increase the gain from +7-8hp to 15-20hp. I don't know about you guys, but russian rhoulette is not a game i want to play with my ECM/PCM or any other part of my car for that matter.

Thanks for the insight junior/wannabe moderators. Don't you want to hit me with a"IB4TL." Or are you too busy trying to combat spam or pilage other threads. I know it has been covered, just can't believe that people are still buying them. I've heard they give discounts to junior moderators. LOL

Don't you think if you could get a 20hp gain for $50 bucks all cars would already come with this "chip."

If you had read the stickies you would know they were a waste of money

not that i condone flaming, but what were you trying to ascertain by starting this thread?

quite frankly it seems like you are trying to get some affirmation from other members. something like 'yeah this kid must be smart, i'll join in and get his back'.

who buys them? the same heads that put neon lights in their windshield sprayers.

Okay ahole, there is a reason we have stickies, so we don't waste time and bandwidth on useless threads like this.

My apologies. The stickies don't tell me if anyone here has actually tried this, not that anyone would admit to it. I know that they are useless and was just opening up the topic to have a little fun, which was in all honesty a waste of time. I'm ok with that. If you aren't, do what the other junior mods do. I don't really care. Can't be dead serious all the time.

Good kill, guess I missed it. I'll have to come with a more compelling thread on a "beat" issue if I expect people not to be e-******. Regardless, these so called performance chips as well as various versions of knock off cai, short ram, and adapter style intakes rule ebay 'maxima' related $. I know I've met people around here w/ modded maximas who've never heard of the org.
