any connection between drive belts & Rough idel

Last week I had drive belts changed on 95 maxima (by a reasonably competent mechanic)
After that I noticed following problems,
1) When I crank the key, it makes a squeeling noise, seems from starter but car always starts
2) Then Idle goes all the way upto 1500rpm and slowly comes back to about 1100 rpm and then again start going up and stops and 1300 rpm.
3) If I put car in D or R gear RPM will go to 900, but Car will have a rough entry into gear, a big jerk.
4) If I put car in N, idle will rise again to 1300rpm and then car will get gas automatically. it happens 4-5 times.
5) Near the fuse bay I can see a plastic box (with 2 types of connectors) hanging, If my foot touch that accidently car will again get gas somehow.

My car is 95 GLE with AT and Bad TPS & Knoc Sensor. I I have purchased TPS wanted to put it in today but one screw is stuck and I am not sure if TPS needs any settings.

Any suggestions how to take care of all these ?

1) sounds like a common problem with 95-96 starters. I've had to replace mine.

2), 3), and 4) sound like they may be caused by the bad TPS. I would replace the TPS and go from there.

5) There should not be anything hanging by wires. I have no idea what that may be but I'd get it checked.

When you replace the TPS it will need adjusting. It is PITA but if you have patience it's not bad. The instructions should be in the stickies somewhere.

post a link to a photo on a web based photo server so we can see what this dangling electrical thing is.

Screeching is probably loose belt. Tighten it up a 1/2 turn or so on the tensioner. I had to tighten mine after replacing.

Fix the TPS & KS codes and then see if you still have a problem. I would guess this would fix all. If not then you need to clean the throttle body. See the many threads here on that. I think there's a sticky on it as well.
