'cause it's not apexi or greddy or some other big brand name, one person said it sounded like crap years ago and now almost the whole board has this opinion that is not based on fact, but rather one persons opinion. Funny. I thought it sounded pretty good.
OBX catback I meant...a muffler and a b-pipe lol.
here's a link:

you could get it for 275-299 most places. It sounds real good if you don't plan on putting a y-pipe.

the exhaust is actually very high quality... i'd put the welds on my old megan racing catback on my previous maxima up against those on any other exhaust on the market.
the exhaust is quite loud without the supplied silencer installed (when I installed the silencer, I could never get it to not rattle at certain RPMs, so I didn't keep it in there). It is loud and throaty at WOT, the thing I hated was off throttle... if you were coasting down with your car in gear, or if you let off the gas and put the car in neutral, you would get that annoying ricey "buzz" as the RPM came down. that was my biggest complaint about it.
also keep in mind the exhaust (at least back 2.5 years ago when I was the first one on the org to purchase one) is made for a 97-99 maxima which has a shorter b-pipe than a 95-96 max does. if you have a 95-96 max, you'll need to have a small 6" custom pipe made to mate the megan B-pipe to your stock cat or to your test pipe - or you'll need to have a custom testpipe made that is about 6" longer than your catalytic converter is.

buy it off ebay.
It sounds decent. I drove my friends old 4th gen that had it on. It was loud when you get on it, I was surprised how quiet it was when your moderate with the gas peddle. It was almost silent but the more you accelerate it will get progressively louder.
It droned a bit at certain rpms but for the money its a good exhaust. Maybe buy the megan but get the greddy muffler knock off welded on, you should have a more livable sound then. . . just an idea
