Brake Vibration

This morning I accelerated my Max up to 100mph then bigfoot the brake from the most inner lane to most outter lane to exit freeway. I experienced pretty serious vibration from brake while braking. I am sure It's NOT ABS working. Never experienced this before.

My brakes work very well under 90 mph with regular brake kick. Any explanation for such vibration?

brake vibration is almost always a rotor issue, cant be much warp-age if you only experience it at those speeds, but definately something to check out.

Could be the rotor. My rotors are the original ones since day one. Now it's 93k already.

I got a report at 90k service mentioning that my brake pads are still 4-6mm thick. Looks like I can still use them for a while.

I will check the rotors when I need to replace brake pads (later).

Thanks, folks!!!

This is just my honest opinion, but for the price of them and the % of common wear when the brake pads are done, always replace the rotors at the same time, if you replace only the pads you will get vibration and your pads will not last as long, just what I know, do what you please.

Can you turn your steering wheel before the actuall wheels start to turn? if so there is play in your steering. Could just be tie rod ends... anyway... it's rack and pinion (as in rack and pinion gears). Sounds like he's trying to impress you with words that he knows you've never heard of.

If you do the work yourself, rotors are cheap. Try replacing the front rotors first if you feel pulsation from your brake paddle when braking. See if pulsation goes away before also doing the rears.
