I have a check engine light that shows it is EGR code.
I have replaced this EGR valve at this place about 2 months ago, and the guy said that my old one was stuck open so we replaced it.
I wanted to check yesterday if the new one is working or not.
So i stick my finger below the egr valve while the car was running and i saw that the valve is open the whole time. So i tried to push that valve up and the car stated to stutter so does this mean that the valve is the issue here?? that is stuck open the whole time.
Any suggestions would really help.

thats because its not the valve that goes bad... its the following..

the egr tube to the intake manifold gets clogged soild...

The egr solenoid went bad..

the hose on the egr solenoid is melted or bad...

check all that first before u do anything....

 

I've had the same problem. My CEL read EGR FLOW MALFUNCTION. How would I clean out the EGR tube that is clogged. If possible could I get some pics to guide me through. Thanks

 

my code is P0400
and i checked the egr tube to the intake manifold it was fine i took it out and blew in the tube and it was clear.
could you tell me how to check the egr solenoid and the hose. Is that the thing that is connected from the egr valve? the top of egr valve has this tube that is connected to something else.

you know what..i just saw the picks on this link about the egr stuff (http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v158/evilBIGD/EGR/) but what i don't get is the EGRC solenoid so if anybody has a real pic of this i would appreciate.

 

its the green sensor that is right next to the knock sensor connector

 

so how can i check if the egr solenoid went bad?
