Alright as some of you know I removed my trans to get new diff. bearings. That is fixed now but in the process of removing the passenger axle I pulled the inner joint out and it was inside the boot. I carefully pried the boot apart and got the joint back in and the ring on. So I install everything back on my car and when I went to drive today I was getting a wobble/whine noise and something causing something to vibrate. The wobble sound goes away once I get to a steady speed and it turns into a whine type noise(hard to describe) and there is something vibrating also. All this is happening on the passenger side. So I know it is not trans related. There is no noise unless I am moving. I have no vibration in the steering wheel. The noise is continious going straight or turning. I did not have this problem before I took out the trans.

If anyone knows anything please let me know as I would like to have my car fully running correctly ASAP

Also does anyone know why my alignment is off when I didnt take anything off but undo the lower strut bolts? My toe and camber are off. I can understand the camber being off as the strut allows for some camber adjustment. But my toe being off when I didnt touch the tie rods? Steering wheel sitting to the side.

 

It's happened to me before. Turned out that the axle nut had come loose. So all I can suggest is check that the big nut is still tight and that your lugs are tight...

 

It shouldnt be my lugs or the axle nut because I tightened those like 1 hr before I drove it that day.

Only thing I can think it would be is the axle.

 

When you retighten the lower strut bolts notice how the top hole is slotted in the shock. You have to pull on the top of the hub while tightening the two bolts. That will help with the alignment.

 

Yea I know that but will that also cause my toe to be off? I probably need a new alignment anyway since I just upgraded to 17x8 wheels.

 

Well I drove it today. And from what I can tell now it is just a constant rubbing type noise. But I jacked the car up and slowly turned the wheel and got a click noise as it rotated so I went and bought a new axle. From what I could tell the noise was coming from the inner cv joint. That where I ripped the joint out into the boot at. So I guess I screwed it up. lol I put the joint back in but guess it not aligned proper or I broke something when it ripped out.

 

thatll just cause you to camber out rather than in. next time mark your struts position on the knuckle with white out or spray paint.

 

Yea the bolts left marks. I adjusted that today. So my alignment is back to where it was and I just got done replacing the axle. SO hopefully that will take care of my problems.
