99 owners step on in, CEL will not come off!

Yes you heard me the Service engine light is on, i have d/c the ECU fuse and battery for 2 hours, still on....

Where is the screw to reset the ecu i only see one? Its the one with the blue gear around it and there its where the sticker has that transparent hole.... Its a phillps screw also....

Here is the pic, because if that isnt the screw then im in trouble because there is no other screw



If a 99 guy could do me a huge favor and give me a detailed desc on where the screw is or take a picture and show me where it is!

I dont wana **** up on the ECU so im playing it safe!

thats the screw under the plastic sticker...

you need a precition screwdriver flathead preferably to turn it

be gentle

turn fully counter clockwise till it stops then back fully clockwise

look at your CEL count the short and long blinks

turn fully counter clock wise till stop then back again till stop it will go out.




mines on but its for auto tranny codes....its annoying...

Ok just for verification purposes, the red outlined and green filled circle is where the screw is located that resets the ECU right? Thanks!

The ECU is the last thing i wana **** up.

Yes that's the screw, make sure you don't press in too hard, or you will never get it back to regular again.

Eh, you mean turn it to tight or push in to hard? Anyways ill be super gentle. Thanks to evrey one that helped.

Maybe both, but just make sure not to PUSH in too hard. Yes be gentle and you should be okay.
