95-96 Lower Grille Inserts - Diamond Style! < PICS <
Hey, I am going to be making Lower Grille inserts for the two lower grilles on the 95-96 Max. I just made some for my car and I think they look GREAT! Here is my car with:

- NO Grille inserts:
![](http://i114.photobucket.com/albums/n251/jonallen816/BlackGrilles.jpg)
- Single Grille inserts:
![](http://i114.photobucket.com/albums/n251/jonallen816/Maxima-9-07-06008.jpg)
- Doubled Grille Inserts:
if anyone is interested in having me make them some. PM me! I'll make them in SILVER or paint them FLAT BLACK. Give me an idea of what you think a fair price is. I have seen the kits on ebay for around 50 bucks shipped for a set of SINGLE grilles. so we can negotiate for doubles if you want.
My grilles are held in place by spring tension. I simply sprung the grille so that it will stay in place. I drive in and out of Boston everyday and mine has yet to loosen up. If you want I will include small set screws.

Hey,
yeah, I could fab them with proper dimensions or a cardboard template, but I wouldnt be able to make any promises of a perfect fit seeing as I don't have a bumper to test fit them with... BUT I could make them and you might need to adjust them with some tin-snips.

I dont see them on ebay anymore. I think $50 would be a bit much for what you have to offer. The screen isnt really "woven" tight enough to black out the area its covering. You can see too much of the bumper area behind it. Maybe you could offer different styles/colors of screens??? Also i wounldnt trust something that is held in by spring tension on the front of my car. 3M tape is even bad enough. I used zip ties to secure mine. Since the screen is "woven" a lot tighter you cant see the zip ties. You are off to a good start, just trying to give some feed back.

ehh thats not too expensive, but I'm in college and broke so I'd prefer to make mine at a fraction of the cost and achieve essentially the same look. So that I'll have more money for things like an 00VI or JWT ECU...

1) it's a screen, it's supposed to be somewhat see through. I like the more open look of my screen yours is simply a different style. Also, with the screen doubled up, you can barely see through it.
2) before you say "i wounldnt trust something that is held in by spring tension on the front of my car" come attempt to PRY my grille out.. GOOD LUCK it's galvanized steel thats woven; from engineering I know that steel has very good strength in tension and because of the screens construction it has very good structural strength. So, if the grille was to "fall out", I'd replace it minus shipping costs, but I highly doubt that'll happen. like I said before, I drive into boston everyday for work or school on some terrible roads and I have had no problems.

i'm worried about the SHARP edges all around these things. if they sit in ther 'spring loaded', does that mean that the edges are digging into my bumper, and scratching the paint all to hell? plus, if the bumper were to flex on a bad bump, i think it's pretty possible that this thing could pop out. why not just use zip-ties?

Also, I drive on HORRIBLE (I CAN NOT STRESS THIS ENOUGH) roads everyday and I hit probably 100 pot-holes just on this one street in Milton everyday. The grilles WILL NOT fall out or as I have stated before I will replace them minus shipping costs!!!!!!!!!!!!!

SO if you're really ****, you could put masking tape on the bumper, set the grill in place, and then remove the tape. OR like I said, if you want, I can cut the grille to fit exactly and you can put it in with small set screws or zip-tie it in.

since were talking about grills, we should also think about other materials you can use, this is my old set up, i liked it, it could of been done cleaner, but i went with a 97 front end, this is an idea, thats all. what do people think about cutting out the middle bar? if done right, it looks good imo. gutter gaurd is nice, but a stronger, more solid material looks better. shop around, look around, my material had a bunch of little holes, it looked nice. i sold em to my buddy, they look great on his max, 3 pieces. oh and ^^ the max's look good. later.

^^ yea, i cut it out and whatnot, my bodyshop guy had some for his car and he had a good bit left over, i did my interior vents too, they look great til this day. the thing is he cant get anymore of the material, its somekind of solid, strong metal with a bunch of holes, not sure what its main purpose is for, like what its used for? a metal shop or sheet metal place might have something like that or something close or even better. just look around. i need to get ahold of more...
heres a pic of the front end now...see the piece i put in the bumper? its clean, not to much, you know..

Is there an easy way to get the nissan emblem off, I think it would look a little cleaner without it being underneath there. Ive seen a lot of the grille tech grilles, but no one takes off the emblem, any thoughts?

^^because theres a metal piece under the grill, right above the bumper where it meets the grill, its bent a little bit, i should of bent it more, but oh well. its not to bad and its a easy fix, but id have to take off the bumper to do it right. hexon, heres apic of the grill inserts,
