Use this chart, http://jimwolftechnology.com/wolfpdf/ECU-ID.PDF and if buy your ECU from www.car-part.com, they have reference #'s that correspond to the PDF.

On www.car-part.com, it will state whether it's cali or fed.. so with that in mind, make sure and check tranny type and fed/cali spec along with the P/N, but yes, JWT only has 1 P/N, so match it up.

Yeah, those threads are mostly from the beginning of 04. That thread still stated that 99 don't have an ECU upgrade (JWT) option when now as of this year they do. In that same thread someone mentioned a 96 ecu will work with no problems or CEL. I believe they were speaking from experience.
